Sounds Dangerous to be put out of its misery by mid-2012

(Finally).

One of Disney World’s lowest rated attractions, Hollywood Studios’ “Sounds Dangerous”, is to slowly be phased out by mid-2012. From December 25th - 31st 2011 it is being used as Comedy Warehouse limited-time engagement. No news yet of what will replace Sounds Dangerous, but trust me when I say that things couldn’t be worse!

(I really did not enjoy Sounds Dangerous).

(In case you hadn’t noticed).

There is no Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights at Hollywood Studios this evening as the park closes at 5pm for the filming of a commercial.

Disney Video of the Day

Ready for the song? That ultimately annoying song that won’t leave your head all day?! Here’s the full ride of it’s a small world at Disneyland!

General Disney World Christmas Tips

  • Make sure you see the Osborne Light Spectacular at Hollywood Studios.
  • Hollywood Studios is a great park to visit on Christmas Eve, and it is considerably less busy on that day than Magic Kingdom.
  • Magic Kingdom is extremely busy on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and can reach capacity by 9:00am, so either arrive as early as possible or visit an alternative park/destination.
  • Crowds tend to start getting heaviest from December 22nd onwards, so try and ride the biggest rides before then.
  • If you have children - or even if you don’t - make sure you visit Santa Claus near City Hall in Magic Kingdom.
  • If you’re staying for parades/fireworks/other shows, make sure that you bring something to keep you warm as winter nights in Florida can get cold.

Christmas at Disney World: Religious Services

For anybody religious who is visiting Disney World over the Christmas-period, there are religious services held on Christmas Day at Disney’s Contemporary Resort’s Fantasia Ballroom.

Catholic Mass: 8:00am, 10:15am
Protestant Service: 9:00am

Walt Disney World Guests are asked to use WDW transportation to the Contemporary. The Parking lot will be restricted during this time as well as the lots at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian Resorts.
